The Day My Wife & Kids Left Me.....

...........to go on a holiday that is!!
They were going ahead of me to Malaysia as I could not get that same amount of time off to go with them.I will follow in 4wks time, seems a life time away!

Anyway it was Wednesday June 11th, the morning was all a big rush to get things ready for the send off.I would have liked to spend more time with the girls before we headed to the airport but it was all rush rush, took some photos before they left.

Off we went it was a hard journey out and was putting on a brave face and tried to be happy, but as we got closed my heart sank more and more.We parked and headed to the check in, things were going well untill the girl at the desk handed over the bording passes for the on going flight from London when Zoe notice that the seats no. were all different!! We went back to ask her:"Are they all sitting together?" she said: "Yeah, think so. You will have to double check when you go over to london!" Now I started to get worried , but Zoe says it will be ok.

We headed up to get a bite to eat before they go to the gate, spent a bit of time with them then it was time to say goodbye! I have to say it was very hard, thought my heart would break! Gave them all hugs and Kisses and Eimhear says to me"Daddy you follow us on the other plane Ok! dont be sad ok!"I couldn't hold the tears then. Zoe was upset too which made it worse, I will remember the hug Zoe gave me I could feel her emotion in it. (Cant wait for another one)
They went thru to security, I waited untill the last second to see the last glimpse of them. I remember just seen Caoimhe been held up by the security guard while the pram went tru.Was funny that Caoimhe was just looking around la la la, not a care in the world! I waved to them again and they were gone.

But I was not finished, I ran to get the car which when I got in felt very sad as I was thinking that they were all in the car with me only moments ago. I drove out to a place beside runway where all the Plane spoters watch the planes take off and land. I parked the car up on a hill so I could have a good view.

Zoe then rang and said that they are at the gate, she was looking over to where I might be but could not see me! I thought how can I get her attention? I looked in the car and found a bright green shopping bag that would stand out. I stood up on the car and started to wave it and loo and be hold she says:"Ah, I can see you. " So funny all the other cars were looking at me. I asked her which plane were they getting on, she told and I could see it. So now i just waited for the plane to taxi over to the runway.

I waited and waited, the time came and went for when they should take off still nothing, then finally an hour later it began to move! I got up on to the car with my bag in hand and as the plane turned to take off I started to wave at it like mad! I waved and waved untill it was gone!! The looks I was getting from the other people around me like "look at that fool over there!" But I didnt care I knew the girls could see me. I jumped back into the car and was heading home when I get a phone call! Guess who? Zoe:"hi babe, just landed in london everything ok!" I was like "WHAT!! What the hell!! I just waved you off!!??" She says:"No, we could see you sitting in the car doing nothing!" Fool here was looking at the wrong plane!! They had taken off on time and I didn't know that was their plane taken off! I waited a full hour to wave at a plane that I knew nobody on it!! Can you believe that!! Funny I guess....haha

But what was sad for me was that Eimhear was saying "Mammy, why is Daddy not waving at me?!" I felt sad over that.

And into the bargin the seats were all mixed up, stupid cow, the other girl in London did her best to sort things out. It was better than nothing! At least they got there safe and sound.
